Before I started this blog I was writing for a blog on the Family Worship Center - Algoma Campus website. This is a copy of one of those posts with links to the original blog.

It’s quiet. It’s early. The coffee is hot. The sky is still black. The world is still asleep. The day is coming. In a few moments the day will arrive.
The refuge of the early morning will soon be invaded by decisions to be made for it is now that you must start making choices for your day. What choices are you going to make?
Because of Calvary, you are free to choose. I have some suggestions on what choices you should make.
Choose love…
No occasion justifies hatred; no injustice warrants bitterness. Today love God and what God loves. Choose love.
Choose joy…
Invite God to be the God of circumstance. Refuse the temptation to be cynical, it is the tool of the lazy thinker. Refuse to see people as anything less than human beings, created by God. Refuse to see any problem as anything less than an opportunity to see God. Choose joy.
Choose peace…
Live forgiven. Forgive so that you may live. Choose peace.
Choose patience…
Overlook the inconveniences of the world. Instead of cursing the one who takes your place in line, Invite him to do so. Rather than complain that the wait is too long, Thank God for a moment to pray instead of clenching your fists at new challenges, face them with joy and courage. Choose patience.
Choose kindness…
Be kind to the poor, for they are alone. Be kind to the rich for they are afraid. And be kind to the unkind for that is how God has treated you. Choose kindness.
Choose goodness…
Go without a dollar before taking a dishonest one. Be overlooked before you boast. Confess before you accuse. Choose goodness.
Choose faithfulness…
Keep your promises. Your debtors will not regret their trust. Your associates will not question your word. Your spouse will not question your love. And your children will never fear that you will not come home. Choose faithfulness.
Choose gentleness…
Nothing is won by force. Choose to be gentle. If you raise your voice may it be only in praise. If you clench your fist, may it be only in prayer. If you make a demand, may it be only of yourself. Choose gentleness.
Choose self-control…
You are a spiritual being. After this body is dead, your spirit will soar. Refuse to let what will rot, rule the eternal. You will be drunk only by joy. You will be impassioned only by your faith. You will be influenced only by God. You will be taught only by Christ. Choose self-control.
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. To these commit your day. If you succeed, give thanks. If you fail, seek His grace. And then, when this day is done, place your head on your pillow and rest.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long~suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22~23
